The scope of work and role of the EDC is different from the Arbitration Committee or Disciplinary Committee of the SROs. The EDC exercises enforcement powers on behalf of the CBB and takes enforcement decisions as per the CBB Law, rules and regulations. The Arbitration Committee of SROs are responsible for settling all disputes relating to transactions concluded on the SROs. The Disciplinary Committees of the SROs are responsible for deciding on violations of business rules of SROs by the members of the SROs, listed companies and issuers of securities.
