Although the primary responsibility for making an announcement after the board of the offeree company has been approached lies with the offeree company, there may be circumstances where the actions of the offeror or persons acting with it give rise to an obligation on the part of an offeror or potential offeror to make an announcement. The offeror or potential offeror should, therefore, keep a close watch on the offeree company's share price and volume for signs of unusual movement.
